Durakerb are part of the Econpro Group. Econpro are a specialist group of companies that transform waste and by-product into sustainable products and solutions.
Durakerb manufacture lightweight and recycled products and systems that provide for a safer, greener, faster and easier solution to kerbing and kerb-side drainage. They provide you with the opportunity to design and construct with responsibility to the environment and workforce.
Waste plastic doesn’t have to be a problem if we recycle and re-use responsibly. There are 182 bottles caps and closures in an average Durakerb standard unit and over 400,000 units sold to date. That is over 72 million fixed within kerb-lines across the UK, ready for re-use.
When you design for Durakerb, all processes from setting out, cutting to length and cutting corners, are made easier, safer and quicker.
The increased efficiency will provide added value for a project when properly costed.
Reduced labour, plant and time on site will bring costs down however you should also exploit the time saved which means other tasks and follow on processes can be planned in so projects can be completed efficiently and ahead of schedule.
Get In TouchIt is generally cheaper and easier to manufacture kerbs using raw material taken from the ground however these resources are finite. The collection, grading and re-processing of waste plastic often has a greater cost but is proving to be a better solution with reduced cost to the environment. Greater use encourages more recycling, lower carbon emissions and a safer, more productive workforce.
After twelve years of Durakerb performance in highway networks across the country, with BBA/HAPAS Certification, we feel that our initial goals set when we developed Durakerb have been realised.
“Offer a kerb edge feature that provides an easier, safer, simpler, quicker, better and more sustainable solution that delivers equivalent performance to the traditional.”
Since Durakerb’s introduction in 2005 There are now in excess of 400,000 units installed in highways, car parks, office and industrial projects across the UK and Ireland. This is equivalent to over 72 million recycled bottles, caps and closures.
DownloadsA major benefit of DuraKerb is its vastly superior health and safety features. DuraKerb is not only extremely light but also contains no carcinogenic silica. Both these features benefit the workforce tasked with installing the kerb and aid designers in meeting their legal obligations under the CDM regulations. Durakerb does this by:
Unlike concrete DuraKerb contains no carcinogenic silica & is designed to be cut using a hand saw eliminating the risk of exposure to RCS (respirable crystalline silica) a know cause of cancer.
At less than 6kg’s DuraKerb is designed to be manually installed in line with HSE guidelines unlike the concrete equivalent which should only be installed with the aid of lifting equipment.
